Looking for a good solution for cosmetics storage in your home? Before our move last year, I really decluttered my makeup. I had a lot of old eyeshadows and lipsticks I wasn’t wearing anymore.
Until recently, I’d been storing my makeup in a makeup bag, but all of my stuff didn’t quite fit inside the bag. I ended up having my makeup all over our bathroom counter, and it was a mess. Even though I don’t have a ton of makeup, it still looked pretty bad.
I just started storing my makeup in this clear container that I can store in a drawer:
I left the label on for the pictures so you can see what it looks like. I bought mine at Wal-Mart, but you can find it on Amazon too. It’s called: InterDesign Divided Cosmetic Bin, Clear. At Wal-Mart they only had the clear ones, but on Amazon there’s a selection of other cute colors.
I like the InterDesign Divided Cosmetic Bin because it has a lot of compartments in different sizes.
I was able to put my face creams in one compartment, and blush and powder in another. In the center I’m storing my foundation, face lotion, perfume, a lipstick and a lip balm. On the left, I have my eyeshadow stick, liquid eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara. Then I have another section for my tweezers and eyebrow trimmer. I have another two lipsticks in a separate section, and my rosacea medicine in another section.
I like this bin because I can see everything, and all of my stuff fits in it. If it gets dirty, and I’m sure it will, I can easily wash it in soap and water.
The bin has lots of extra room, so if you have more makeup than I do, you would have room for more stuff.
I also like that this bin is sturdy, and easy to pick up. I plan on storing it in one of my drawers so it’s not always out in the open on the countertop.
How do you store your cosmetics?
