How I Remember to Stay Hydrated

Do you have a tough time remembering to drink water throughout the day? Do you aim to drink a certain number of glasses of water each day? I try to stay hydrated despite my love of coffee in the mornings, but I definitely need reminders to help me keep drinking water throughout the day.

Since I started making hydration a priority, I’ve noticed a lot of positive changes.

Benefits of Drinking Water and Staying Hydrated

  • Healthier skin. I can really see a connection between my hydration levels and the amount of dry skin I have.
  • Clearer thinking. This is huge for me. Remember, I’m a person who needs reminders to drink water…
  • Reduced snacking. They say that hunger is really just hydration a lot of the time. I guess that’s true.
  • It’s made my kids want to drink water. They want to be like mommy, so they want to have a glass of water with ice. I love that they’re also creating a healthy water-drinking habit. When they are well-hydrated and well-fed, they are also much less likely to have meltdowns.

I created a Daily To-Do list, which I’ll share with you tomorrow, that has a tally for the number of glasses of water I’m supposed to drink each day. Each time I drink a glass of water, I just check it off my to-do list. It helps me drink enough water each day, and give me a feeling of accomplishing something. Because some days, drinking water is a big accomplishment…

Even though it’s a simple thing, drinking water really has a positive impact on my health and attitude. Want to learn more about the positive effects of hydration? Check out my Water board (yikes! that’s not a good name) on Pinterest.
