Microwaves can get so gross, but they are so necessary. When yours is out-of-control, here’s what you can do to whip it back into shape:
1. Fill a bowl with water and a few teaspoons of white vinegar, and microwave it for three minutes. Check it after three minutes, and see if the surfaces inside the microwave are moist. If they aren’t, microwave again for a few more minutes. If they are moist, go to step #2.
2. Wipe out the microwave with a cloth or paper towel. This should be an easy task if the inside of the microwave is moist.
3. Use coffee filters to cover your food from now on. I buy the basket coffee filters when I see a good sale, and I use them to cover my food when microwaving it. It ends up being cheaper than using paper towels, and it’s safer than using plastic.
***Please use common sense and caution when cleaning your appliances. Read the owner’s manual before cleaning to make sure you’re not doing anything that could damage your microwave. Be careful, and be delighted with your clean microwave! ***

I knew about the easy cleaning tip, but didn’t think about coffee filters. Great tip!
I got the coffee filter tip from my Dad! 🙂 I usually buy extra coffee filters when I need a filler to use my coupons at Walgreens.
